My car hasn’t run in years. Can I still donate it?
Yes, we are able to accept most vehicles, running or not. Exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing. To find out if we can accept your vehicle, please complete and submit our donation form.

What do I need to donate my vehicle?
We would like the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it please call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made. Please call us toll-free at 866-4HELPETS (1-866-443-5738).

Can you pick up vehicles in all 50 states?
Yes, we are able to pick up accepted vehicles in the continental U. S. and Hawaii. We regret that donated vehicle pickup is not available in Canada at this time.

How will my car be picked up?
Our vehicle donation service will arrange to have your vehicle towed away by a professionally licensed, bonded, and insured towing company.

How long will it take to pick up my car?
We will arrange for a towing company to contact you via telephone within three to four business days. If you need your car picked up sooner, please let us know as we are often able to accommodate rush orders.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. Vehicle and vessel donations made to the AAHA Helping Pets Fund are tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor regarding tax treatment in your specific case.

How does my tax deduction work?
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) allows you to claim a tax deduction for donation of your vehicle in accordance with IRS Publication 4303. Following donation, our car donation service will mail you a receipt reporting the gross proceeds from the sale of your vehicle. This receipt meets IRS requirements for deducting charitable donations.
