Providing Veterinary Care for Pets in Need

The current economic environment has made it difficult for many non-profit organizations to raise the necessary funds to maintain their viability. The AAHA Foundation Board of Trustees voted to close the AAHA Helping Pets Fund due to the decline in donations. The Helping Pets Fund will close on June 30th.

Although we are very sad about the closing of the Helping Pets Fund, we are thankful that it has touched so many lives, providing assistance to pets in need, their families, and the veterinary professionals who treat them. Since its inception in 2005, the AAHA Helping Pets Fund has awarded more than $1,000,000 in grants. With these funds, we have provided assistance to more than 4,000 pets that desperately needed help.

One of our largest supporters has been CareCredit, which has offered sizable donations the last five years. We thank you, CareCredit, and we thank all who have so generously provided funding to help pets in need. We are proud to have partnered with you.

As the benevolent arm of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the AAHA Foundation seeks to improve the lives of pets. The AAHA Helping Pets Fund works with AAHA-accredited veterinary practices to identify pets in need. Accredited practices may then apply for assistance from the Fund for emergency and non-elective treatment of abandoned pets and pets whose owners are facing financial hardship.

There are many pets the AAHA Helping Pets Fund has helped. Read some personal stories below.
